Hello Members of AWCCA and Arizona Workers’ Compensation Community,
What a year it has been! March 2021 marked a full year of quarantine amidst a worldwide pandemic; a full year since we’ve seen our members and colleagues at an in-person meeting (aside from the 2020 ROTY [Rehabilitant of the Year] celebration). I never thought I’d see something like this in my lifetime.
While this year has been challenging for a lot of reasons, it’s also been a time for growth. We’ve had the opportunity to see things in a new way and reevaluate how we want to do things and why. The AWCCA Board took time during the pandemic to re-vamp our website. If you haven’t already visited the new site, I invite you to take a look at www.awcca.org. Our website committee has worked with our new web host to provide a user-friendly, state-of-the-art website with everything from event registration, to job postings, to a photo gallery. In the “Info Hub”, you’ll be able to register for events, print payment receipts for your expense report, and post job opportunities when you have an opening. We hope you like it!
Our Golf Committee has been busy planning our 2021 Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s event will take place at the Camelback Golf Club on May 7th. Shot gun start is at 7:30am. Visit the AWCCA website for more details. We hope to see you there!
Our ROTY Committee has also been planning the 2021 event. The ROTY celebration is scheduled for May 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites on 24th Street & Camelback Rd. This year’s event will be a hybrid event, meaning you can attend either in person or online via Zoom, whatever you are most comfortable with. Please visit the AWCCA website for more details. Sponsorships are selling out quickly!
I hope everyone is doing well and hope to see you soon at an AWCCA event.
Andrea Lester, AWCCA President
